Ohio University's 4th Annual International Women's Day Festival will be held on March 11, 2012.
This year’s festival will honor the theme of “Connecting Girls, Inspiring Futures,” and celebrate the past, present, and future accomplishments of women worldwide. The Festival will provide an opportunity for the campus community to highlight women’s and girl’s achievements, to reflect on women’s status today, and to project into women’s future as local, national, and global subjects and citizens. We encourage all members of our community – domestic and international, students, faculty, staff, and community and family members -- to participate in this event. |

Summer of 2010 saw three intrepid OU/LAS faculty members traveled to Chile and Brazil. While Dr. Patrick Barr-Melej (History) accompanied Dr. José Delgado (Director/LAS) in Chile, Dr. Ariaster Chimelli (Economics) played the same role in Brazil. This was not "the tale of heroics feats [...] it was about three lives running parallel for a while."
